We always preach the importance of staging, whether you hire professionals, like Staging Charleston, or you DIY. It matters! This home was listed by TWO prior agencies who didn’t appropriately guide the clients on staging.

After the clients had no success with the two other agencies I got a call to list this townhouse. On first impression there was way too much furniture. While you may need more sitting space or have heirloom peices you display when it comes to selling your Charleston home less is more. You want ot optimize the space of your home, not make it feel small.
Next on my list was the clutter. Homes are personal. People like their knickknacks and ornaments and photos. I get it, so do I. But when you are selling a home in Charleston or elsewhere you have to depersonalize. Potential home buyers want to be able to imagine THEIR lives in this space. They want to envision all the ways THEY can decorate or rearrange the home.
Needless to say in came the staging train… and guess what?
WE SOLD THE TOWNHOUSE!

It’s not as complicated as some clients think. We moved half the BIG furniture to the garage and opened up the space to look much larger and bright! We changed out some art work and bar stools and made the previously UN-defined sunroom an ACTUAL sunroom! We gave each room a purpose and showed its full potential.
When you list with Front Porch Properties you don’t only get a skilled, experienced, local real estate agent you get a professional stager. If you are tied to your agent, for any reason, we can still help you stage through our partner at Staging Charleston.
Reach out! I’d love to chat about your selling your home.
