Year-to-date sales are up 23% (14,252 homes sold in 2021) while median prices continue to increase sitting at 17% higher than last year. The major factor in the market continues to be the inventory shortage. There just aren’t enough homes for sale in greater Charleston to keep up with the current demand. Homes on the market are selling in an average of 44 days on the market – basically a month! Forecasts predict this trend to continue for the next several YEARS based on the growing job force, average affordability and quality of life the Lowcountry provides.
