“Are the Schools Good?”

“How are the schools?”

This is a question we are asked all the time as realtors, especially with more and more clients moving to the Lowcountry from out of state.

Due to the  Fair Housing Act, which “prohibits housing discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or family/economic status” we, as realtors, most often will not give you advice on this subject. Details about schools can be interpreted as references to race (as well as crime information and insight on neighborhoods).

On the other side of the coin we understand how important a school system is to families with children. There are 80 schools just within the Charleston County School District; that can be overwhelming when trying to decide on where you want to move.

Luckily the world of technology offers some great resources for you:
GreatSchools.com and SchoolDigger.com both give you great information on school ranks, size, specialities, staff and more.
Realtor.com offers a way to search within school districts for homes for sale.
– Facebook groups for the neighborhoods you’re interested in can shed some good local insight on things like schools.

So while we may not speak on the schools in your area there are great options for you to find exactly what you’re looking for, and, in general, we can always cater your home search to family friendly developments and parts of Charleston.

If you are looking for a new home for your family I would love to help.
